Service Station Design and Installation
The Design
When the state of Iowa expanded State Highway 60 to four lanes, it created space and opportunities for service station stops along the new route. Soon after, the Cooperative Energy Company picked Sibley as a destination for what turned out to be one of the most popular truck and traffic stops in the state.
“We wanted to build a facility to accommodate today’s customer,” said Brian Dreesen, general manager of the CHS affiliate. “With the help of Westmor, we designed a station with no tight corners, plenty of space to move around and fast .”
The Package
Dreesen and his team took bids from three companies, but eventually settled on Westmor.
“They [Westmor] certainly stepped up to the plate the most,” Dreesen said. “They spend the most time with me and explained what would happen at every step. There was never a doubt that they were doing the right thing.
Dreesen explained more than the service, it was also Westmor’s ability to work a complete turnkey installation.
“So the day we decided to pump, it was a good feeling knowing that all the work was done by one company,” he said. “It’s a state-of-the art facility built well. I have no problems sleeping at night!”
The Relationship
“Even today, our relationship with Westmor is very, very strong,” Dreesen said. “They haven’t left me after the sale and continue to follow up making sure everything is beating expectations. That’s priceless to me!”
With all their success in the first year, Cooperative Energy is already exploring expansion plans in Sibley.
